Frequently asked questions

Can you create custom pieces?

Absolutely! Please visit my page specifically for custom orders for information on the process. You can submit this form to inquire about commissioning a custom piece. Please be as detailed as possible- letting me know what you're looking for the piece to be of (art, lettering, a mix of both, something else...) and what size, as well as if you want it on paper to be framed, on metal, or wood, for starters. Also include when you will need your completed piece(s) in your hands by, and if you intend to pick your piece up (if you are local to Bucks County, PA) or if shipping is required.
If you’re unsure of what you’re looking for, that’s okay! I will guide you through some questions to help us both figure out where to go in the process.

How long do custom orders take to complete?

This totally depends on what is being ordered, at what quantity, and what the artwork will be.
Most cards take between 24-72 hours to complete, from starting to paint to packaged and ready to ship. Multiple amounts of cards in the same order could add another day or a few days.
Metal or wood slab signs typically take at minimum a week, but can take up to two weeks. If you add on a resin coating to seal and protect the design, this will add at minimum, 3 days due to how the resin must cure. Temperature can affect resin curing time, and due to where our items are created, temperature may impact the amount of time needed to complete the project.
Either way, the more heads up given about a custom project, the better. The times listed here are estimates and are not guarantees. Time to complete project(s) might take longer during holiday periods such as (but not limited to) Valentine’s Day, Mother’s/Father’s Day, and Christmas.

7 Things You
Need to Know

When Working With an Artist

How are your items created?

Each card is individually painted, and while each listing for a card that you see shows one image, each card within that listing will be 98% similar, with very minor differences due to the nature of hand painting each card, as well as the nature of watercolor paint. It moves and dries differently with each stroke, which really brings home the unique and hand made feel.

Metal and most wood signs are prepared with a base coat that helps the watercolor to adhere to the surface being painted on, and then they are sealed with a clear spray paint top coat to protect the design from fading and any elements. While it is not recommended to place any watercolor piece directly in outdoor elements, most metal signs sprayed with the clear top coat are durable enough to handle being on a covered porch. If you are interested in placing an order for a sign to be exposed to the outdoor elements, please email me to discuss this.

If you are interested in a card design, but want it to be consistent across the board, I am certainly capable of creating a design that I can send you digitally for you to print, or I am able to print them. Please email me to pursue this avenue.

Can you Use Disney princess/lyrics/etc, sports logos, or other designs that I saw someone else create/advertise?

Due to copyright issues, I will not paint or create anything that is similar to, inspired by, or a direct copy of any other licensed, copyrighted, trademarked, or otherwise created content. Ever.

There are rights that allow me to paint things like Bible verses or quotes when crediting the original author of that quote, but outside of that I will never use someone else's creation in my work. Not only because it could REALLY get me into lots and lots of trouble, but it also isn't creative or unique for me, and I thrive on creating UNIQUE items. :)

When we copy someone else, we rob them the joy of creating too, and friend, I just do not want any piece of that pie!

Can wood or metal signs be placed outside?

Normally, it is not recommended to place outdoors in direct contact of the elements. Signs that are under a roof, on a patio or balcony for example, should be okay, but note that if in direct sunlight, paint colors may fade faster than if the signs were kept inside.

If you want to order a sign that can withstand the elements more than the regular signs, please private message me so that I can add an epoxy resin coating onto your sign. This will be an additional $75 charge, so if you want this upgrade added on, please be sure to add it to your cart before purchasing your sign.

Is gift wrapping/packaging an option?

Yes, and there are no extra costs for this.
If you are purchasing items as a gift, please specify in the "Message to Seller" box on Etsy PRIOR to submitting payment. You should also check the box denoted as “Mark as Gift” when in check out.
Should you forget, please get in touch with me as soon as you submit the order.
Orders that do not denote any intentions of gifting will not be gift wrapped specially and will include an itemized receipt. This is not the responsibility of the seller should the buyer fail to inform the seller of intent to gift.
